1 pack:  50 grams of each speciality coffee

A classic, often referred to as a cigar coffee, grown in volcanic soil on a plateau that extends from approx. 1,300 to 1,700 masl southwest of Batur. Grade1 and Triple Picked indicate that this is the absolute best sorting. "Triple picked" means that it is hand-sorted three times.

It has been a long time since we have tasted coffee from Bali and we were therefore very much looking forward to having it on the table in November 2020. It can not be ruled out that we had special expectations, but we think we could sense aromas in the direction of cigars, tobacco, and maybe toast? As this is a washed coffee, it has some acidity/fruitiness, and here the association's go-to dried fruit. Still, it belongs more to the category, full-bodied, dry, sweet. This is a coffee with character and it is in no way similar to washed coffee from Java and Sumatra.

We have given it a moderate treatment in the oven and recommend it for all cooking methods except espresso.

The Golden Bean Premium represents something very special! All coffee in this category has in common that they in their own way stand out from the others, either in taste and method or that it is a small batch from a, particularly successful crop. The coffee in our Premium range is always "single estate" or "single-origin", never blends. When you buy coffee in this category, you can expect even more, it is roasted in small batches of 6-8kg and sent straight from the oven. Here, the "screw" has been given an extra twist! Ali Kintamani Natural is a crop we look forward to every year because of how unique it truly is. Bali is a tiny island in Indonesia, and like most coffees from Indonesia, the vast majority go through what's known as a 'Wet Hull' process. Wet Hulling is a unique process that only Indonesia uses, that adds body, minimizes acidity, and tends to bring about earthy or woody type flavors.

Kintamani Natural is instead processed by the traditional dry (natural) process of sun-drying the coffee cherries on raised beds before the seeds are separated from the cherry. This is extremely rare for coffee coming out of this part of the world!

The end cup is complex. It is fruity, and rich, with a full-bodied, buttery mouthfeel that reminds you the coffee you're drinking is from Indonesia. The fruit notes jump out more to us like a fermented, liqueur, winey-type fruity sweetness. This coffee is a wild ride no matter which way you drink it, and is just too unusual of a coffee to pass up!

Arabic Coffee

Arabic coffee is a symbol of generosity and hospitality among the Arabs, and it is a strong link to our history and the past of our ancestors. Arabic coffee is made from coffee beans roasted very lightly or heavily from 165 to 210 °C (329 to 410 °F) and cardamom and is a traditional beverage in Arab culture.
The technique of preparation and tastes is described for Arabic coffee instead of the kind of roast beans. Arabic coffee is unfiltered, boiling coffee that is served black. Sugar isn't usually added, but if it is, it can be done at any time throughout the preparation or serving. It's served in a finjn, a little delicate cup with no handles. The coffee is occasionally transferred to Della, a larger and more attractive pour pitcher for serving in front of the visitors. Unlike Turkish coffee, traditional Arabic coffee is typically unpasteurized (qahwah saada), with its roots in Bedouin culture, but can be added to sugar according to drinker's desire

Our Special Macha Collection

For hundreds of years, matcha has been honoured in the traditional Japanese tea ceremony as the core of the Japanese tea culture. It is one of the most potent superfoods available today, made from stone-ground, shaded green tea leaves.
It's packed with "umami" (a Japanese term for elegant taste, savoury deliciousness and also the fifth scientific taste, along with sweet, sour, salty and bitter). The first vegetal/earthy flavour is followed by mellow sweetness that lingers in the tongue like a good wine, with a rich scent that quickly makes you feel fresh.
